Club Career

Starikov was born in Soviet Union in the Black Sea port of Odessa, now part of Ukraine. However, his family moved to the United States when he was a young boy, so he has hailed from Palm Harbor, FL from an early age.

After high school, Starikov took his talents to Stetson University, where he remained for two years.

Prior to the 2009 Russian Premier League season, Zenit St. Petersburg came calling and Starikov found the offer too good to refuse. He joined Zenit's youth team for 2009.

In 2010, Starikov went on loan to fellow RPL club Tom Tomsk. While the forward couldn't find any playing time in the first half the season, he received an opportunity midway through the campaign and seized it. Initially working as an impact substitute, he soon forced his way into the starting lineup, scoring a goal and racking up several assists in the process.

International Career

Starikov has not suited up for any national teams.

Hearts head coach Robbie Nielsen has confirmed that Perry Kitchen will miss Thursday's Europa League game.
