Club Career
Danijal Brkovic was born in the city of Dubrovnik in what is now Croatia. He moved to Binghamton, New York when he was nine years old and later became an American citizen.
Following a standout career in the local high school circuit, Brkovic decided to explore options in Europe instead of continuing his amateur career in the NCAA. Before long, the forward found an opportunity with Velez in the Herzegovinian city of Mostar.
After impressing with the junior squad, Brkovic signed a professional contract in late 2010 and made his first team debut in the Bosnian league in April 2011.
Brkovic made significant progress the following season. The forward broke into Velez's starting lineup during the fall and finished the season with 18 starts and three goals.
In June 2012, Brkovic moved to the defending Bosnian champions, Željezničar.
International Career
Brkovic holds a Bosnian and an American passport, but has not been involved with the national team programs of either nation.
