Club Career

Ariyibi was born in Arlington, Virginia and moved to England in childhood. The winger came through Southampton's academy from 2005 to 2013, when he was released after the club declined offer him a first team contract.

Six months later, Ariyibi inked a half-season contract with Leeds United, in December 2013. He soon made his first team debut with a pair of substitute appearances, but after subsequently falling out of the regular 18, was loaned to Tranmere Rovers of League One, where he'll attempt to help the Birkenhead club avoid relegation.

International Career

Although eligible to play for Nigeria and England, Ariyibi decided to represent the United States at youth level. He has so far played for the Under-20 team and currently plays for the Under-23s.

United States U20 and former UCSB keeper Justin vom Steeg has moved across the Atlantic to join 2nd Bundesliga club Fortuna Düsseldorf.
