Club Career

Johnsen started his football career in Vĺlerenga and Třnsberg, staying there for two seasons, until he signed with Spanish side CD Úbeda Viva, in January 2012. Eight months later, he joined Segunda División B side Atlético Baleares. He would later move on to Portugal where he signed with Atlético CP in July 2014. In August, he won the Player of the Month award in the Segunda Liga after scoring nine goals in five games.

Johnsen then made the move to Eastern Europe where signed with Bulgarian side Litex Lovech. He made his debut for the team in February 2015. In May, he scored a hat trick in the team's 4-2 win over Ludogorets.

In July 2016, it was reported that Johnsen moved to Scottish Premier League side Hearts on a three-year deal.

International Career

Born to a Norwegian father and an American mother, Johnsen is eligible to play for both countries.

He has yet to receive a call up to the US national team.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
