Club Career

After spending one year playing at the University of Akron, Kitchen signed a Generation Adidas contract with Major League Soccer. He was selected in by DC United in the first round of the MLS SuperDraft in 2011. He would go on to make his debut for the team in March 2011 in their opener against the Columbus Crew.

After five seasons with United, Kitchen headed to Scotland where he signed with Premier League team Hearts. After only spending a few months with the capital team, he was appointed captain in September 2016. However, he would lose the captaincy in February 2017 when the team made a switch at coach and he used sparingly for the rest of the season.

In July 2017, it was announced that Kitchen left Hearts and signed with Danish Superliga team Randers FC on a two-year contract.

International Career

After playing for the United States at various youth levels, Kitchen would make his debut for the senior team in February 2015 in their game against Panama.

The young soccer careers of Rubio Rubin and Brady Scott are headed in completely opposite directions.
