Club Career

A product of Hamburg's youth development squad, Götz would go on to make his debut for the reserve team in 2011. After spending three seasons with the reserves, he made his Bundesliga debut in September 2014 against Borussia Mönchengladbach as he came on as a substitute in their 1-0 loss.

On May 2017, he was suspended by Hamburg's first team coach, Markus Gisdol, and his contract was dissolved.

Götz would then head over to Holland to sign a contract with Eredivisie team Roda JC.

International Career

The son of an American father and German mother, Götz is qualified to play for either Germany or the United States. There was some interest in Götz possibly playing for the United States as he was scouted by the team.

Thus far, Götz has not represented the United States at any level.

The final stretch of the English league season is upon us, with several Americans on the verge of relegation with their teams.
