Wright started his playing career as a youth player with the Los Angeles Galaxy Academy team which then led him to signing his first professional contract with the New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League. During his time in New York, he would split his time between the first and B teams.
In April 2016, Wright signed with Schalke 04, making his debut in the same month for the Under-19 team in their game against Borussia Mönchengladbach. He would score two goals in that game.
Wright would continue to make progress in his development and this lead to him being promoted to Schalke's first team in May 2017. He was on the bench for the team's game against Ingolstadt on May 20, 2017.
During the 2017-2018 season, Schalke decided to send Wright out on loan to 2. Bundesliga team Sandhausen. He would score one goal in 15 appearances.
With opportunities to be a part of the Schalke set up becoming more difficult, Wright headed across the border to the Netherlands where he signed with VVV Venlo in the Dutch Eredivisie. He went on to play 22 games for the team without scoring a goal.
After his release from Venlo, Wright headed to Denmark to sign a deal with Superliga team SonderjyskE in August 2020.
Wright has so far represented the United States at the youth national team level. He would first suit up for the Under-15 team in 2013, followed by promotion to the Under-17 team. He would go on to score 27 goals in 34 appearances for the team.
Wright currently plays for the Under-23 team.
