After spending a few years in Texas, where he trained for some time with FC Dallas, Kelman headed back to England and joined Southend United's youth team. He has been a prolific goal scorer for the Under-18 team as he scored 61 goals for them during the 2017-2018 season.
Kelman then followed that up by scoring 18 goals in 21 appearances in the 2018-2019 season, earning promotion to the senior team.
In January 2019, the forward would make his debut for the Shrimpers, coming off the bench in a 3-2 loss to Plymouth Argyle. However, he would not make headlines for his debut, but for the goal he scored as he took a strike from his team's own end, beating the goalkeeper as the ball hit the back of the net.
Born to an American father and English mother, Kelman has so far represented the United States at youth level.
He was called up to the United States Under-18 team and scored a goal in a friendly against Sporting Kansas City.
