Folarin Balogun was born in New York City to Nigerian parents. When he was 2 years old, the family immigrated to England. Growing up in London, as an 8 year old, he tried out for both Arsenal and Tottenham but it was the Gunners who signed the youngster. In February 2019, he signed his first professional contract.
He made his Arsenal debut in October 2020 in Europa League action against Dundalk and a month later against Molde where he scored his first professional goal.
Balogun is eligible to play for the USA, England and also Nigeria. He did represent England in the UEFA European Under-17 Championships, as well as the Under-18s. He was also called up for a USA training camp in July 2018 in the Czech Republic.
