BRADLEY ELECTED TO TEAM COUNCIL

EXTRA TIME
CLINT WADDELL - Monday, August 2, 2010
American midfielder Michael Bradley has once again been chosen to be part of the team council for Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The decision was made earlier today and announced by head coach Michael Frontzeck.

Belgian Filip Daems will remain the team's captain.

"We won't be changing the structure of the team. This young squad has been working well together for a year and there is no reason to change anything," said Frontzeck.

Along with Bradley and Daems, the team council includes Tobias Levels, Christofer Heimeroth, Thorben Marx and Dante.

Marx and Dante were the only new additions, included because of the departure of Oliver Neuville.

Daems said of the council: "I think it is a good mix that will be able to represent the interests of the team."

Gladbach is coming off a 1-0 victory over English Premier League club Liverpool as it prepares for its Bundesliga opener.

Council? Clint, enlighten me. I assume it's similar to a group of Assistant Captains?

So I guess he's not moving to another team...
