Diego Restrepo could very well be America de Cali's starter when the Colombian season begins as the former Virginia netminder is off to a solid start.

Restrepo made his debut for America on January 15th in a preseason friendly against Junior that saw the teams battle to a 1-1 draw.

In that match, the Florida native made a huge save near the end of the first half that held Junior's lead to 1-0 heading into the second half.

America would later equalize on a goal from Jorge Banguero in the 50th minute.

The itinerary for Restrepo continues this weekend when America travel to Bogota for the Cafam Cup.

That will then be followed by another preseason tournament, the Copa Crema, which is played in Peru and features clubs from Peru, Colombia and Argentina.

Restrepo and America begin their Categoria Primera A season on February 5th when they face Deportes Quindío.

The German regular season is finished, however a pair of American players still have work to do in the promotion/relegation playoffs.
