BEDOYA RETURNS FROM BIRMINGHAM
EXTRA TIME
BRIAN SCIARETTA - Friday, February 25, 2011
US international midfielder Alejandro Bedoya has now returned to Sweden after spending this past week training with English club Birmingham City.

It had been reported in various media outlets that Bedoya was actually on trial for the Premier League club, however YA never received official confirmation that was the case.

A Birmingham spokesman only acknowledged that the American midfielder was spending a few days at the club.

Bedoya was in the starting lineup for a Birmingham City team that took on the MLS franchise San Jose Earthquakes in a Wednesday friendly.

The final score ended up 4-0 in favor of San Jose with goals from US international forward Chris Wondolowski, Joey Gjertsen, and two from Steve Lenhart.

Bedoya indicated earlier Friday via his Twitter account that he is now back in Sweden and will resume his regular training with Orebro.

The Florida native is entering the last year of this contract with Orebro in Sweden's Allsvenskan and was granted permission to train with Birmingham City.

Bedoya and company open their 2011 Allsvenskan season the first week in April.
