BRIAN SCIARETTA - Wednesday, July 27, 2011
American midfielder Sebastian Lletget yesterday made a preseason appearance for West Ham United in a 1-0 win over Dagenham and Redbridge.

For Lletget, 18, the appearance marked his preseason debut for the first team of West Ham United who were relegated out of the English Premier League last season.

Lletget is coming off a difficult 2010 where he missed most of the calendar year battling mononucleosis that affected his ability continue his rise within the club's organization. It is unlikely that Lletget will be part of West Ham's first team to start the season but playing in these preseason matches are positive signs that he's in the club's plans.

Lletget has been a part of the World Cup qualifying teams for the 2009 U17 team and the 2011 U20 team but he has yet to appear in a World Cup tournament for the US. His next major FIFA tournament could be the 2012 Olympics next year in London.

Estudiantes Tecos have won the last 3 out of 4 matches and have moved up to 6 spot in the Mexican Premier league. Mr. Klinsmann, please bring Herculez Gomez back to the national team. He has the international experience and determination to take the US team to the next level.
