Molde FK is tantalizing close to its first ever Eliteserien title.
The Norwegians have been the bridesmaid seven times over its history, but have never been the bride. Now, Ole Gunnar Solskjær's men hold a nearly insurmountable lead with three matches remaining on the schedule.
Eight points separate Molde from Tromsø, while Rosenborg trail by eleven but have a game in hand. Molde will clinch the title with one win from their last three or from the failure of their title rivals to win the remainder of their games.
Barring an epic collapse, Molde will be champions for the first time in their 100 year history.
American winger Josh Gatt has been a reliable contributor to the title effort. The 20 year old, who possesses blistering speed, is a midfielder by trade but has spent much of the year filling in at right back due to a spate of injuries and poor form among the incumbents.
Molde will likely finish the season without Gatt, who tore his right hamstring in a recent match.
Left back Sean Cunningham is also on the roster, but the 18 year old has only appeared in cup matches and with the reserves this season.
