Brad Friedel's record streak of Premier League starts came to an end on Sunday.

Coming into Sunday's game, Friedel had started 310 consecutive Premier League games playing will Blackburn, Aston Villa, and Tottenham. But on Sunday, Tottenham coach Andre Villas-Boas elected to start French international Hugo Lloris over Friedel.

The 310 starts is a record for the English Premier League and during the course of that run, Friedel has earned the reputation as one of the league's best goalkeepers.

Friedel is still perhaps the most respected American goalkeeper of all time and is best remembered internationally for his stellar play at the 2002 World Cup where he help carry the US national team to the quarterfinals.
