JONES SUSPENDED FOUR GAMES
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
BRIAN SCIARETTA - Wednesday, December 12, 2012
Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones has been suspended for four games for a recent red card against Stuttgart.

The red card happened in the second half of Schalke's 3-1 loss to Stuttgart on Saturday. For Jones it was his first ever straight red card but the severity of the penalty is due to his reputation as a repeat offender.

Last year he was suspended for eight games for stomping on Marco Reus in a German Cup match against Borussia Moenchengladbach. During his suspension he played with the US national team during their annual January camp.

Schalke have already announced on their website that they will appeal the decision to have the suspension reduced.
