New York- born Diego Chavarri is taking his career to Iran after joining newly promoted Gostaresh Fooload on loan.

Chavarri, 24, has bounced around Peruvian clubs for most of his life. He drew a lot of attention in 2011 when he scored highlight reel goals for Sporting Cristal. But injuries and off-field issues took their toll and he moved from club to club every year.

Most recently in was with Union Comercio where he also went on loan to CD Defensor San Alejandro in Peru's Segunda Division.

He will now head to Gostaresh Fooload on a season-long loan. The Tabriz-based club was recently promoted to the top tier in Iran, the Iranian Pro League.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
