Konrad de la Fuente has committed his future to Barcelona as he signed a new deal with the Spanish giants.

News of the deal, which was announced on Sunday, will see the 18-year-old remain at Barcelona through 2022 with an option for another two years. His release clause will move up from 50 million to 100 million dollars should he be promoted to the first team before the end of the deal.

De la Fuente is set to be apart of the plans of Barcelona B next season. They are currently preparing for the playoffs set for July with a chance to earn promotion from the third tier to the Segunda Division. De la Fuente is already with the team and will be looking to play a role in their promotion campaign.

After months of speculation as to where the Miami, Florida native could be moving, he seems to be content with the new deal and determined to accomplish his goal of making it to the first team.

"I am very happy to stay at the best club in the world," said de la Fuente in a statement on Barcelona's website. "It has always been my dream to play for the first team, and that is why I want to stay here - to try to achieve it."

De la Fuente moved to Spain at 10 years old along with his family and was accepted into Barcelona's famed La Masia academy in 2014. Since then he has progressed his way through the ranks to get closer to his dream of making the first team.
