After recently having competed in the Dallas Cup, the US U20 national team's next competition will be the Cor Groenewegen Tournament in Uitgeest, Holland starting on May 22.

The schedule for the tournament is unknown at this time but the US has been drawn into the Pool B of the 12 team tournament.

The other teams in Pool B are Heerenveen, Atletico Mineiro, FC Utrecht, the Egyptian youth national team, and the Japanese youth national team.

Pool A consists of FC Uitgeest, Cruz Azul, FC Twente, Senegal, a Canadian youth national team, and a South Korean youth national team.

This tournament will be the third competitive tournament for the US U20 team of the current cycle which will end with next year's 2011 U20 World Cup in Colombia.

In the two previous tournaments for the US U20 team, head coach Thomas Rongen was forced to use mostly domestic based players however it is widely expected that Rongen this time will use a large contingent of foreign based players to compete in the Cor Groenewegen Tournament.

Crikey ! Not over keen on criticism then ?

I hope the lad has improved as much as you both say in the year since I last saw him play but what I have written is an honestly held view.

I look forward to reading the Youth Team match reports on the Ipswch Town FC website this coming season and hopefully he will feature strongly.

Cody Cropper produced some superb goalkeeping, playing for the USA under 20 squad in the Cor Groeneweegen Tournament in Ultgeest Holland. On his performances I believe he will be part of the USA undr 20 squad for a long time as Cody is only 17 years of age. With his training in the UK continuing he will only get better and better.I have no idea who this Cody Cropper that lakedry is talking about ther must be more than one Cody Cropper? because the Cropper that we know bears no resemblance to the one he claims to know?

It must be a long time since Lakedry clapped eyes on Cody Cropper. His comments are totaly incorrect.Cody Cropper has not been turned down by half the Academies in the UK.The reason for not being signed by uk clubs was because of incorrect Paper work and the difficulty in obtaining them. His comments on Ipswich are also wrong. His paperwork is I believe all been sorted out So watch this space?. His performance in Holland playing for the USA Under 20 team speaks for its self .Not the same guy that Lakedry is talking about,So I presume when he seen him play Cody must have been 13 or 14 years of age?.For Lakedry's info three teams wanted to sign Cody Cropper but was unable to because of his paperwork being held up in the USA.

Cody Cropper hasn't been playing for Ipswich and has been turned down by half the academies in the UK.
I've seen him play a few times and he's been just ok.
His footwork needs to improve enormously and he is likely to fumble under presure.
Very good in the air but slow to get down even for a big lad.

Hoyos prediction: He will get called into U-20 and U-23 camps by Argentina (snubbing USA in the process). When he turns 23, he will get capped in one meaningless FIFA sanctioned game and be cap tied to Argentina. He will never play for Argentina again...

Michele Martucci, overlooked talent, should definately be looked at.
