Former U.S. national team goalkeeper Kasey Keller will now be enshrined with some of the greats in American soccer.

On Wednesday, the World Cup veteran was announced as the newest member the National Soccer Hall of Fame along with coaches Sigi Schmid and Glenn "Mooch" Myernick.

American midfielder Jose Torres will be on the shelf for the next two to three months after undergoing successful surgery for a herniated disk, Liga MX side Tigres UANL reported on Tuesday.

Santa made his rounds few days later for many US fans, as Gedion Zelalem appears headed to the stars and stripes.

The ultimate national team destination of the Berlin-born Zelalem has been the subject of speculation, hope and worry for many US fans for much of 2014. While born in Germany to Ethiopian parents, reports indicated that the Arsenal academy member had an opening to US citizenship through his father, with whom he emigrated to the United States in 2006.

Mikkel Diskerud will leave Rosenborg in the off-season, the team confirmed, after the two sides were unable to agree to a new contract.

The United States lost to a talented Colombian team and it was a valuable learning lesson.

Much of the same for the United States, this time in a 2-1 loss against Columbia. They look stout and confident in the early stages of the match. They dropped back and held well. But after time, the walls will break and time and time again, fans have seen the same collapse in the second half that needs to be addressed.

Only one American survived the third round of Europa League qualification
As clubs wrap up the pre-season, several Americans featured in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League this Thursday.

The only team with an American to advanced was Stjarnan, where 24-year-old midfielder Pablo Punyed currently plays. The Icelandic side played Lech Poznan to a scoreless draw, enough to advance them on aggregate 1-0.
