ANDY SCHREUR - Thursday, May 2, 2013
Carlos Bocanegra and Racing Santander face a must win on Sunday when they visit Almería.

Racing Santander - Almería

Bocanegra and the Highlanders were unable to hold their 1-0 lead against Barcelona's B team last week and saw themselves fall further into the relegation zone. They currently sit in 21st position and are six points behind Hércules in 18th place and safe.

Almería, on the other hand, are fighting for relegation and are in 5th place and looking for a spot in the relegation playoffs at the end of the season. They are paced by Brazilian striker Charles, who leads the team with 20 goals on the season, his first with the Andalusian club.

Santander have some injury concerns coming into the weekend matchup and may be without Juanmi, who has been absent from training with the flu all week. Héctor Yuste and Marti Crespi were both injured against Barcelona and are questionable this weekend. Mario Fernandez and Qunini will also miss the match due to yellow card accumulation. Almería will be without striker's Iago Falque and Rubén Suárez due to injury.

Bocanegra and Santander have six matches remaining to avoid relegation for the second time in two seasons.

Notes

Oguchi Onyewu and Málaga visit Granada on Saturday.
