RJ DEMELLO - Wednesday, July 3, 2013
Joe Funicello, Chuck Chijindu, Josh Wicks, and Thor remain on the road for the second game in a row as they head to the southwest to take on IA Akranes Wednesday.

Wicks left the team's last game in the 67th minute with an injury and is questionable to play a part in the midweek action. Chijindu will try to add to his four goals so far on the year, good enough for joint fourth in the goal scorer standings. Meanwhile, Funicello looks set to fill his usual role in defense for the squad.

In their first season back in Iceland's top flight Thor sits three spots and seven points above the relegation zone. Last week saw the team from Akureyri come out strong and never look back, cruising to a 3-1 victory over Keflavik.

Akranes sits in the relegation zone in 11th out of 12 with only three points from nine matches on the year. At the weekend the team was beat by fellow strugglers Vikingur Olafsvik by a score of 1-0.

Wednesday's matchup will be the first between the two teams this season. The last time these opponents met was 2010 with the teams drawing both games while playing in the second division.
