RJ DEMELLO - Wednesday, July 24, 2013
The entire American contingent got the start with Josh Wicks, Chuck Chijindu, and Joe Funicello all going the distance as Thor fell to Breidablik at home on Sunday.

Funicello took his normal place in defense for the team from Akureyri while Wicks made his first appearance in goal since leaving Thor's game three weeks ago with a hamsting injury.

Chijindu put in another great shift at forward, scoring the team's lone goal in the second half. The goal sees him tied for second in the league with six goals so far on the year.

Thor went down early when Andri Albertsson conceded a 15th minute penalty that Breidablik's Rene Troost tucked into the back of the net.

It took only two minutes for the visitor's to find some breathing room. Defender Arni Vilhjalmsson got the goal in the 17th minute and Breidablik seemed to be on their way.

Finally, after almost an hour Thor had a response through Chijindu who scored in the 76th minute to bring the home team back into the game.

The team from the north was unable however to find an equalizer and Breidablik left with the points.

Thor now falls to eighth place in the table with 13 points from 12 games on the year. The team now sits just six points above the relegation zone heading into Sunday's match away to league leaders FH.
