ANDY SCHREUR - Tuesday, August 6, 2013
Club Tijuana and their four American's travel south to the Devil's Cauldron on Tuesday to take on El Salvador's Firpo in their CONCACAF Champions League opener.

Club Tijuana - Firpo

Gregory Garza, Joe Corona, Edgar Castillo and Paul Arriola all played this weekend at Morelia, a 2-1 loss. Arriola recorded an assist, his second in only two appearances this season.

The Xolos qualified by winning the 2012 Apertura with a 4-1 aggregate victory over Toluca, the first championship in the young club's history.

Firpo won El Salvador's Primera Division 2012-13 Clausura Final with a 3-0 win over FAS to qualify for the Champions League and are only one match into the 2013-14 Apertura so far, a draw with Įguila. Firpo, the oldest team in El Salvador, have won the Premera Division ten times

Group 7 is rounded out with Honduras' Victoria, who will host the Xolos on August 20th in La Ceiba.

Tijuana will be without Argentine Dario Benedetto, who suffered a muscle spasm in the match with Morelia this past weekend and did not travel. Firpo expects to be at full strength for the opening match of the Champions League.
