BRANDON WIGGINS - Sunday, August 18, 2013
Alejandro Bedoya made his Ligue 1 debut on Sunday, but he could not help FC Nantes escape a loss to FC Lorient on the road.

Bedoya came on in the 52nd minute for Yohann Eudeline, his first bit of playing time since his recent signing with the newly promoted Ligue 1 club.

Nantes scored first when Olivier Veigneau was able to knock in a long-range shot into the top right corner of the goal off of an assist from Vincent Bessat in the 17th minute.

Despite that early strike, however, Nantes was outplayed the rest of the match by a Lorient squad that scored the next two goals and managed to hold possession for the majority of the match.

Vincent Aboubakar of Lorient knocked in a shot from the right side of the penalty box off of an assist from Maxime Baca in the 39th minute to tie the match. Jérémie Aliadière of Lorient would score the game-winning goal off of a free kick in the 61st minute.

Bedoya had an opportunity to tie the match for Nantes at the end of stoppage time but his shot from within the penalty box was deflected.

Bedoya and Nantes will host Paris Saint-Germain next Sunday.
