Five American's featured for Club Tijuana in last night's win over Victoria in Champions League play.
Club Tijuana 3 - 2 Victoria
Gregory Garza, Bruno Piceno, and Paul Arriola started for the Xolos while Edgar Castillo and Joe Corona both came on as substitutes. The match was delayed over two hours due to a power outage and heavy thunderstorms in La Ceiba.
It was the youngster Arriola who immediately made a splash again with a goal in the 10th minute to put the visitors on top, his second career professional goal and second in the last two matches.
Diego Olsina put the Xolos up 2-0 in the 40th minute and they went into halftime up two goals in Honduras.
However, Victoria would come back immediately in the second half and drew a penalty in the 48th minute, which Wilmer Crisanto converted to bring the hosts back within a goal.
Tijuana midfielder Cristian Pellerano made his last on field contribution count, when he scored in the 69th minute to again extend the lead to two goals. Arriola recorded an assist on the third goal, who again stood out.
Corona replaced Pellerano in the 73rd minute while Castillo replaced Olsina in the 79th in an attempt to close out the match and return to Mexico with four points from two matches in Champions League play.
Fredixion Elvir brought Victoria within a goal once again when he scored in the 86th minute but the Xolos were able to hold off the charging Hondurans on a rainy night in La Ceiba.
