JONES CLARIFIES HIS STATUS
EXTRA TIME
BRIAN SCIARETTA - Monday, September 30, 2013
After a murky report was issued yesterday from German publication BILD, U.S national team midfielder Jermaine Jones has clarified his status.

US Soccer clarified the matter in a statement issued to YA. According to the release, Jones will not undergo surgery as reported by BILD. The midfielder has had some minor knee issues he is planning on fixing in the winter break, however.

Also, Jones will not play for Schalke this week in the Champions League due to a non-injury matter. BILD had reported that he was suspended but that is unconfirmed. Jones will return to action with Schalke this weekend for a game against Augsburg.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
