In a matchup of two Americans, Steve Clark and Hønefoss split the spoils with Mikkel Diskerud and Rosenborg.

Rosenborg Trondheim 0 - 0 Hønefoss BK

In a rather lackluster match, Steve Clark and Hønefoss held Mikkel Diskerud and Rosenborg in check to record a point.

Diskerud started and went 67 minutes in central midfield for Rosenborg, while Clark manned his usual spot in front of Hønefoss' goal.

In the first half, Rosenborg controlled possession and had nine corners, but a combination of bad finishing and a defensive wall in front of Clark helped keep them out. The second half saw much of the same, although Hønefoss did manage to see much more of the ball.

The best chance of the entire match came in the 70th minute, when Pål André Helland lined up to take a 27-yard free kick. The shot went over the wall and past a leaping Clark, but it hit the crossbar before going out of play.

With the tie, Rosenborg dropped out of the top spot in the Tippeligaen, having the same number of points as Strømsgodset but losing the goal-differential matchup. Hønefoss is still in the last direct-relegation spot by goal differential only. Both teams return to action in two weeks, with Rosenborg traveling to Start on October 19 and Hønefoss hosting Molde on October 20.
