After injuring his thigh earlier in the week in practice, Birmingham City's American defender Jonathan Spector is expected to miss considerable time.

Spector, 27, has played in eight Championship matches for Birmingham City this season where he has played numerous positions ranging from right back to central midfield.

"[Jonathan Spector] is out for at least two months," Birmingham Press officer Andy Walker said. "Not had full scan yet expected to be between 2 and 3 months."

The Chicago native recently signed a two year contract extension with Birmingham City over the summer. The club currently sits in 18th place in the 24 team Championship.

Definitely a major bummer and setback. Hopefully he will heal quickly and get himself back in the mix. Keep the faith Jonathon!

Guess that rules him out of a Nov. call up...
