Aston Villa - Sunderland

Brad Guzan and Aston Villa host Jozy Altidore and Sunderland in a Premier League clash.

Both Americans are likely to see the field for their respective teams.

Villa is in 12th place and is coming off a draw with rivals' West Bromwich Albion. The team is on a three game unbeaten run and they hope to continue and possibly jump into the top half of the standings.

Sunderland continue at the bottom of the table, however they are just three points from safety. They lost to Stoke City last weekend, but their form has improved in the last month and they hope to capitalize with three points on Saturday.

The Black Cats look to be without Keiren Westwood, Andrea Dossena and Modibo Diakite, while Villa's Gary Gardner and Antonio Luna could return from injuries for the home team.

Everton - Stoke City

Tim Howard's Everton welcome Geoff Cameron's Stoke City to Goodison Park.

Howard and Cameron are likely to start. Brek Shea made the game day lineup last week for Stoke and he could see action Saturday, while Maurice Edu is not likely to see the field for the Potters.

The Toffees are coming off a bitter draw with Liverpool last weekend. Everton was up in the final moments, but the Reds came back with a goal in the 89th minute to spoil the party.

Nevertheless, Everton is still in a strong 7th place and could conceivably jump into a top four spot with a win this weekend.

The Potters are in 14th place and just three points above the drop zone. They have gone four games unbeaten in all competitions and hope to continue that momentum on Saturday.

Leighton Baines has a broken toe and will miss for Everton, while Robert Huth and Marko Arnautovic are injury doubts for the Potters.

Middlesbrough - Bolton Wanderers

Seb Hines and Middlesbrough take on Tim Ream's Bolton in a pivotal Championship matchup.

Hines is suffering from a hamstring problem and is questionable to feature for Boro, while Ream is a regular starter and should start for Bolton.

Stuart Holden continues to rehab from his knee injury and could start training in January for Bolton.

Boro has won just one game in their last five and find themselves just five points above the relegation zone. A win for Hines and company would be a huge boost for the struggling club.

Bolton is in 15th place and just three points above Boro in the standings. However, the Wanderers are playing some of the best soccer of the season. They have not lost a game since September and they have reeled off three straight victories.

Boro are without ‘keeper Jason Steele because of suspension, however Shay Given has come in on an emergency loan from Aston Villa and will take his place on Saturday.

Notes

Brad Friedel is not likely to see time in Tottenham's match against Manchester United.

Oguchi Onyewu and Queens Park Rangers take on Doncaster Rovers.

Zak Whitbread's Leicester City host Millwall.

Jonathan Spector and Will Packwood's Birmingham City take on Barnsley.

Duane Holmes and Huddersfield Town host Burnley.

Jon Paul Pittman and Wycombe travel to play Dagenham & Redbridge in League Two play.
