BRIAN SCIARETTA - Friday, January 3, 2014
U.S national team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann today announced the 26 player roster for the annual January Camp that will take on South Korea at the Stubhub center February 1.

The camp will begin January 6 but the team will also travel to Brazil from January 13-25 to scout the training environments ahead of the World Cup.

The roster marks one of the strongest January camps in recent years with players such as Landon Donovan, Eddie Johnson, Matt Besler, Omar Gonzalez, Brad Evans, Clarence Goodson, Mix Diskerud, Kyle Beckerman, and Graham Zusi all featuring prominently in World Cup qualifying.

There are also several newcomers into the national team setup. Luis Gil, Shane O'Neil, and DeAndre Yedlin all recently took part in the 2013 U-20 World Cup last summer. Mike Magee is 29 years old but he has earned his first callup thanks in part to winning the 2013 MLS MVP trophy while featuring for both the Los Angeles Galaxy and the Chicago Fire.

Following the game against South Korea, the U.S national team will have just one friendly in March before the start of World Cup preparations in May.
