Oguchi Onyewu will not be among the wave of Americans returning Stateside to play in MLS as he has signed with Sheffield Wednesday through the end of the season.

Onyewu, 31, announced the deal on Saturday.

At Sheffield Wednesday, the former U.S international will try to help a struggling club that sits just four points above the relegation zone in the second-tier English Championship. The club, however, has won its last two league games and has not lost in four.

Onyewu will arrive at Sheffield on the heels of a disappointing deal with Queens Park Rangers. He signed a short three month deal last fall with the London-based club but failed to make a single appearance.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
