Chivas USA have loaned Gabriel Farfan to Chiapas FC of Mexico's Liga MX for six months which includes an option to buy.

Farfan, 25, has played his entire professional career in the United States and has featured for both Philadelphia and Chivas USA of MLS. As a youth player, he played for the United States U-17 team at the U-17 World Cup in 2007.

"Chivas USA have agreed to loan midfielder Gabriel Farfan to Chiapas FC of Mexico's Liga MX," Chivas USA said in an e-mail statement.

Farfan, will be joining his brother Michael in Mexico. Michael Farfan was loaned from Philadelphia to Cruz Azul in December but has yet to make his debut in Liga Mx.

Chiapas is off to a strong start in the Liga Mx Clausura where it sits in sixth place through five games.
