BRIAN SCIARETTA - Tuesday, February 4, 2014
After a terrific first half where he forced an own goal and scored one of his own, U.S national team forward Aron Johannsson had to leave AZ Alkmaar's 2-0 win over Vitesse with an injury.

Sources have told YA that the injury is not serious and is a strained thigh. It is unclear at this time if the 23 year old striker will be available for this Saturday's matchup against the Go Ahead Eagles.

Johannsson is in the middle of a breakthrough season where he has 13 Eredivise goals in 22 games for AZ Alkmaar. Across all competitions he has 21 goals for AZ Alkmaar.

Johannsson is what the US nats need. I only hope Klinnsman realizes that Altidore just does not cut it.
