BRIAN SCIARETTA - Thursday, February 13, 2014
After being rumored for weeks, U.S. Soccer finally announced that the United States national team will host Mexico in Phoenix, Arizona on April 2nd.

The game will be the final tune up friendly before the World Cup camp opens in May.

It will be the first meeting since September when the United States beat Mexico in Columbus by the familiar 2-0 scoreline and clinched its berth World Cup.

Mexico continued to struggle in qualifying and nearly missed out on the World Cup but secured fourth place in the Hexagonal when the United States defeated Panama in a late rally. Graham Zusi's stoppage time goal against Panama made headlines across Mexico as he gave El Tri a lifeline into the playoffs which it would win easily against New Zealand.

The United States opened its busy 2014 schedule on February 1st with a 2-0 win over South Korea. It will next face Ukraine on March 5th before taking on Mexico.
