After helping guide Bodo/Glimt to promotion into the Tippeligaen in 2013, Zarek Valentin has suffered a torn Achilles injury that will keep him out the rest of the 2014 season.

Valentin, 22, started the first two Tippeligaen season this year for Bodo/Glimt but tore his Achilles on Wednesday and will be out the remainder of the year. Valentin confirmed the injury to YA in an e-mail.

As a native of Lancaster, PA, Valentin turned professional when he left Arkon University in 2010 and was drafted into MLS by Chivas USA. After one season there, he was traded to Montreal where he played two more seasons before being loaned to Bodo/Glimt where he eventually signed.

Valentin as also a veteran of U.S. youth national teams where has featured for both the U.S U-20 and U-23 teams.
