After being named Bolton's player of the year for 2013/14, Tim Ream has signed a new contract with the club that will keep him with the Wanderers through 2017.

Ream, 26, has been with the club since 2012 after two seasons in MLS with the New York Red Bulls. Last year was his breakout season where he featured in multiple positions including defensive midfield, right back, left back, and central defense.

"I'm really pleased to have extended my deal here," Ream, 26, told Bolton's official website. "I certainly feel like I've developed as a player during my time over here and with my family we're settled in the local area."

Bolton will open its 2014/15 season on August 9 when it visits Watford at Vicarage Road Stadium.
