Sebastien Ibeagha's Fredericia debut ended in defeat while Babajide Ogunbiyi and Mayowa Alli watched from the sidelines as their respective teams jumped atop the standings.

AB Copenhagen 2 - 0 FC Fredericia

Sebastien Ibeagha went the distance for his new team Fredericia on Sunday, however the team was unable to pull off a result in their shut-out loss at AB Copenhagen.

An injury crisis in Fredericia's back line saw Ibeagha forced into the starting lineup despite having only a few days to practice with his new teammates, and a ruthless first-half display by the hosts in making the most of their chances left the Fredericia squad well aware that they still have much work to do.

The visitors did come painfully close to taking the lead in the early going when a free kick from Tobias Perch-Nielsen clanged off the crossbar in the eighth minute, but the home side were first to strike just past the half-hour.

Copenhagen took advantage of slight confusion in the Fredericia defense to trigger a quick attacking combination, with Kristian Uth hitting Rasmus Mathiesen in stride, who subsequently struck a low far-post cross to Linus Olsson. The Swede deftly buried the short-range shot with little resistance from the helpless defense, giving his team the lead.

The game was effectively put out of reach moments before halftime, again thanks to Olsson, who this time turned provider to release Simon Braemer into a completely free position for the 2-0 lead.

Fredericia did increase the intensity of their own forays into the attacking end as the second half wore on, but were severely hampered in large from the injury of leading attacker Jeppe Hansen shortly after the break.

In the end, they were little threat to their hosts' goal, and were forced to endure a third straight game to start the season without a win.

Fredericia remains amongst the pack of four teams at the bottom of the First Division standings with only a single point, being held above the relegation spots only by total goals scored.

They will be back in action on Wednesday in Cup action with a visit to third-tier Kolding IF, then return to league action on Sunday when they host Lyngby.

Notes

Mayowa Alli was an unused substitute for Vendsyssel FF on Sunday in their 2-0 home win over FC Roskilde. The results leaves them tied atop the 1. Division with Viborg.

Babajide Ogunbiyi was named to Viborg's gameday squad against Aarhus after missing their first two games while recovering from knee surgery, but did not take the field in their 2-0 road win.
