Mayowa Alli saw a half of action for Vendsyssel in a losing effort while Sebastian Ibeagha and Fredericia had no problems to advance to the next round of the Danish Cup.

Skive IK 2 - 0 Vendsyssel FF Hjørring

Mayowa Alli played the first half for Vendsyssel FF on Wednesday evening as they were knocked out of the Danish Cup by fellow First Division team Skive IK.

While Vendsyssel threatened early with Christian Overby hitting the crossbar, Skive struck first in the 21st minute when Andreas Albech snuck in behind the visitors' defense to pull down a long ball and calmly put it past keeper Jesper Christiansen for the lead.

Skive were firmly in control for the remainder of the half, however the visitors did their best to push back after the break, with Alli making way for midfielder Michael Byskov for an added forward push.

The Skive defense miraculously held strong under waves of pressure, and sealed the result just before the end of regulation when Emil Zetterquist headed in a corner for the final 2-0 scoreline.

Vendsyssel can now return their focus to their league campaign, which has thus far been a success as they sit atop the standings after three games.

They will be back on the field on Saturday afternoon when they visit last-place Brønshøj.

Kolding IF 0 - 4 FC Fredericia

Sebastian Ibeagha and Fredericia atoned for last weekend's disappointing loss by blowing past Kolding IF on Wednesday night in a momentum building victory.

Ibeagha started and played the full 90 minutes in defense for Fredericia, helping to completely shut down their overmatched third-tier opponents.

The visitors effectively wrapped up the contest within the first 10 minutes, going up 1-0 in the seventh off the foot of Anders Hostrup then adding another one minute later thanks to a header from Christian Ege.

Two minutes after the halftime break, Hostrup added another for the visitors when he latched onto a well-taken throw-in and hit a wonderful blast inside the corner of goal, the debutant Sebastian Billund piled on a fourth when he put away an initially blocked shot from teammate Nicholas Hagelskjær.

Fredericia will return to league action, hoping to gain their first win of the new season when they host unbeaten Lyngby on Sunday.

Anton Peterlin saw his team Hellerup IK advance to the next round of the competition thanks to a 2-1 home win over fellow third-tier club BK Frem.

New FC Sydvest players Jason Plumhoff and Jonny Dolezal saw their team's Danish Cup run come up short, as the third-tier side drew their lower-league opponents Marstal/Rise 1-1 at the end of regulation, but lost 4-3 in a penalty shootout.

Babajide Ogunbiyi and Viborg will face fellow 1. Division opponents AGF Aarhus in their first-round game next Wednesday.
