DAVID SMITH - Thursday, August 21, 2014
Sebastien Ibeagha and Fredericia will try to continue their momentum against surprising Skive while Babajide Ogunbiyi and Mayowa Alli will each hope to see an increase in playing time.
FC Fredericia - Skive IK
Having won their last two in league and cup competitions, Sebastien Ibeagha and Fredericia will need to avoid a letdown on Sunday when undefeated Skive come to visit.
Days after destroying their lower-league opposition in cup competition, Fredericia took down then-undefeated Lyngby by a 2-1 edge in league action last weekend.
This was their first league win of the season, and reversed what had been a fairly disastrous start to the new term after a series of unfortunate losses and injuries.
Sunday's opponents Skive could be a surprisingly tough challenge, as the just-promoted team has undoubtedly shown their mettle in the division through four games.
While last weekend's scoreless draw against Viborg was a bit of a letdown, they have still gone undefeated so far, winning a pair and drawing the other two, and currently occupy third spot in the standings.
Fredericia are missing defenders Søren Jensen and Jacob Thychosen as well as keeper Mads Markfoged all to injury while Skive are not reporting any absences.
Notes
Babajide made his return to competitive action in Viborg's midweek cup loss on Wednesday, and could continue to see more playing time when the team visits Brønshøj BK on Saturday.
After appearing for the last couple minutes of Vendsyssel FF's last league outing, Mayowa Alli will hope to once again take the field for his team on Sunday when they visit AC Horsens.
