RECAP: EUROPA LEAGUE ACTION
EXTRA TIME
KYLE SCHNITZER - Saturday, August 30, 2014
With the fourth round of the UEFA Europa League coming to an end, Fabian Johnson and Brad Friedel move onto the next round, while Pablo Punyed and Stjarnan's fairytale comes to an end.

Sarajevo 0 - 7 Borussia Mönchengladbach

After squeezing by in the first leg 3-2, Fabian Johnson and Borussia Mönchengladbach opened the floodgates at Stadion im Borussia-Park, crushing Sarajevo 7-0.

Johnson, who was slotted as a winger this game, played the entire 90 minutes and tallied an assist.

The match was scoreless until the 20th minute, when Gladbach forward Raffael connected with German winger Andre Hahn. Four minutes later, Granit Xhaka added another to give Gladbach a two-goal lead.

In the 34th minute, Fabian Johnson received the ball wide while streaking down the far sideline. The through ball was met by a large charging touch from Johnson, which lured Sarajevo goalkeeper Dejan Bandovic to come off his line. Johnson let off a beautiful ground pass to Branimir Hrgota who smacked it into the empty net.

The assist marks the second time Johnson has connected with Hrgota in the Europa League.

Hrgota finished the game with three goals and Thorgen Hazard added two more later in the match to fuel Gladbach to an easy victory.

Gladbach now await their next opponent.

Stjarnan 0 - 6 Inter Milan

Losing 3-0 at home against Inter Milan, Pablo Punyed and Stjarnan needed to score at least four goals to advance to the next round. But they scored none.

Instead, Inter Milan scored six and advanced to the next round, defeating Stjarnan 6-0
