Rubio Rubin and Charles Kazlauskas were both on the losing end on a bad weekend for Americans in Holland.

FC Twente 3 - 1 FC Utrecht

Rubio Rubin played the full 90 minutes for Utrecht, but the young American couldn't help push his team to a win against red hot Twente.

Twente grabbed an early, fifth-minute lead through a brilliant Kyle Ebecilio free kick. The 20 year old midfielder's shot from 25 yards out dipped over the top of the wall and tipped off of the tips of Utrecht keeper Robin Ruiter's fingers on it's way into the top left corner.

Twente continued to pile on the pressure, but didn't break through for their second goal until the 64th minute. Former Inter striker Luc Castaignos attempted to chip the onrushing Ruiter, but it was parried into the path of defender Christian Kum who clumsy knocked it into his own net rather than clearing it.

Yassine Ayoub brought Utrecht back into the game with a blistering 71st minute volley from just outside the penalty area.

Castaignos assured that Utrecht wouldn't come all the way back though, sinking the visitors slim chances in the 90th minute, blistering a low shot from the top of the penalty area into the bottom right corner to solidify the scoreline at 3 - 1.

Rubio was all over the field for Utrecht, but the young attacker is still looking for his first goal after making four starts up top for his new team. His next chance to score comes against Go Ahead Eagles next Saturday.

Helmond Sport 1 - 2 Roda JC

Charles Kazlauskas and Helmond's rough start continued this weekend as they couldn't make a 1 - 0 lead stand up and Roda went back home with three points.

Roda midfielder Nathan Rutjes hauled down Helmond's Roel van de Sande in the box, and the referee deemed it enough to award a penalty which Stanley Elbers converted to give Helmond the 1 - 0 lead at halftime.

Roda stormed out of the break however, and found a 53rd minute equalizer. Midfielder Wiljan Pluim embarked on a rollicking run, which ended with his shot finding it's way past Helmond's keeper Jamie Watt.

Helmond attempts to hold on to a tie were foiled by Roda substitute Rigino Cicilia in the 80th minute. The 20 year old Curacao international's powerful shot from close range deflected off of Watt's hands and into the net to seal the win for Roda.

Kazlauskas is proving to be a stalwart once again for Helmond, having played every minute of Helmond's eight league games this season. Helmond have only managed six points from those eight games though, and currently find themselves in 18th place out of 20.

Aron Johansson is still out for AZ with an ankle injury and did not play in the team's 3-2 road win over ADO Den Haag.
