KENYA BROWN - Tuesday, November 4, 2014
Mikkel Diskerud and Rosenborg got a big win on the road against Odd, while Michael Stephens, Andrew Jacobson and Stabaek suffered a setback at home to Haugesund.

Odd 0 - 1 Rosenbog

A 50th minute goal by Jorgen Skjelvik was all Rosenborg needed to get the win against second place Odd at the Skagerak Arena and cut the gap to one point in the standings.

The first half of the game went by with both not having many chances to challenge for the first goal. The Troll Kids won a corner but a scramble in the box only allowed the Odd defense to clear ball from the area.

Things picked up in the second half, and it would be Rosenborg pushing for the goal.

A through ball from forward Pal Helland found the feet of Skjelvik and the defender slotted home to give the visitors the lead.

The goal gave Rosenborg confidence to push forward for another goal, but they squandered several opportunities.

Odd had a very good chance to level the score on a free kick in the second half. However, Rosenborg goalkeeper Daniel Orlund made a spectacular diving save.

Diskerud had a quiet game on the day, see 87 minutes of action before being subbed out.

Rosenborg now head in to the last game of the season with a good chance of claiming second place over Odd.

Stabaek 0 - 1 Haugesund

A penalty in the 60th minute sealed the fate of Stabaek as they fell to their guest at the Nadderud Stadium.

The first half went by quietly as neither side had good opportunities to score.

The second appeared to be going in the same direction until the referee called a penalty on Stabaek goalkeeper Mande Sayouba for taking down a Haugesund player in the area. Forward Christian Gytkaer would step and put the ball in the back of the net to give the away side the lead.

The Blue Ones pressed for an equalizer and Jacobson had a great opportunity to do so, but his shot sailed over the bar.

Stephens and Jacobson played the entire match for the losing side.

Stabaek have now dropped to 11th place in the standings while Haugesund move up to 10th.

Molde goalkeeper Ethan Horvath was only a spectator on the bench as the league champions fell to Stromsgodset 2-0.

Rhett Bernstein and Bobby Warshaw will be heading to the first division playoffs for their respective teams as Mjondalen and Baerum ended their final game of the regular season with a 1-1 tie. Both players got the start for their teams, with Warshaw scoring the crucial equalizer for Baerum in the 85th minute.

Bernstein and Mjondalen with take on Fredrikstad, while Warshaw and Baerum face Kristiansund in the semifinals of the promotion playoff. Both games will be played on November 9.
