US international Christian Pulisic will remain in the German Bundesliga for the near future as Borussia Dortmund announced Monday that he and the team have signed a new contract until June 2020.
After months of rumors about the 18-year-old possibly making a move away from the Westfalenstadion, things were all settled when BVB posted a tweet of Pulisic sitting at a table preparing to put pen to paper on his new deal.
"We are very happy to have secured the long-term commitment of another extraordinarily talented player," said BVB sporting director Michael Zorc in a statement on the team's website. "Christian already enjoys a high standing within the team and can become a cornerstone of our sporting future."
After breaking into the team in the winter of last year, Pulisic has not rested on his laurels as he has contributed to their push for silverware in every competiton. He has so far this season made 13 appearances in the league along with six in the UEFA Champions League.
"I still have a lot to learn. I feel Dortmund offers the best conditions to do that. I have the chance to play in front of over 80,000 fans. We have the best supporters in the world - it does not get any better than that," said Pulisic.
