WOOD SUFFERS THIGH INJURY
EXTRA TIME
KENYA BROWN - Wednesday, February 22, 2017
US forward Bobby Wood has been listed as day-to-day as he went down with a thigh injury prior to Hamburg's Bundesliga game against Freiburg the past weekend.

The Hawaii native was listed in the starting lineup, but was scratched later on as the team decided not to risk him playing in the game to worsen the injury.

However, on the bright side, it appears the injury is not serious and it should not keep Wood out of the team for significant period of time. It is hope he will make a full recovery ahead of Hamburg's next game against league leaders Bayern Munich.

The news should also come as a relief to US national team head coach Bruce Arena as he looks to put together his best team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers in March.
