JOHNSON, 'GLADBACH EXTEND CONTRACT
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
KENYA BROWN - Thursday, May 11, 2017
Fabian Johnson will be staying with German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Mönchengladbach for the long-term as it was announced that he and the team agreed to a contract extension.

The 29-year-old's new contract will run until 2020.

Johnson, who can play both at at full back or in the attack, has become an indespensible part of the Foals' team as he has helped them to make the push for European spots through the years.

There were rumors that there the team might be seeking a transfer as the Munich-born player was nearing the final year of his deal. However, with the signing of the new contract, both seem intent continuing the partnership as they pursue some silverware either domestically or in Europe.

Gladbach currently sit ninth place in the Bundesliga standings - three points behind Hertha Berlin and four behind Freiburg for a Europa League place.
