RECAP: BVB 2-1 EINTRACHT FRANKFURT
EXTRA TIME
KENYA BROWN - Sunday, May 28, 2017
Christian Pulisic would come out on top in the battle against Timmy Chandler on Saturday as Borussia Dortmund won the German Cup final over Eintracht Frankfurt in Berlin.

The 18-year-old would draw the penalty that let BVB get their hands on the trophy in the end - their fourth German Cup title and Pulisic's first piece of silverware.

BVB scored the first goal just eight minutes into the first half when Ousmane Dembele took a pass from teammate Lukasz Piszczek on the right, flicked the ball past a defender and blasted a curling shot past Eintracht goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky.

However, the Eagles would find their way back into the game as they scored the equalizer in the 29th minute. Dortmund lost control of the ball in their own end and Mijat Gacinovic made them pay for their mistake as he took possession and sent a pass to Ante Rebic, who fired his shot past Roman Burki.

Then Pulisic would enter the game in the second half to help set up the winner for BVB. Marc Bartra chipped the ball into the area for the wunderkind to pick up, but he was brought down by Hradecky, leaving the referee no choice but to point at the spot for a penalty. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stepped to take the shot and chipped it down the middle of the goal.

Frankfurt tried to push for another equalizer, but it would not come as Dortmund left the Olympic Stadium with the trophy.

This is the first trophy for BVB since the 2011-2012 season.
