Some Americans playing in Europe discovered their fates on Monday as the draws for the first and second qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions and Europa leagues took place in Switzerland.

Midfielder Brian Span will be looking to help Finnish champions IFK Mariehamn qualify for the group stage of the Champions League as they start their quest in the second qualifying round against Polish champions Legia Warsaw. The first legs will take place on July 11-12 with the second legs coming on July 18-19.

Goalkeeper Ethan Horvath and Club Brugge will wait awhile to find out their opponent as they will not play until the third qualifying round of the competition.

Christian Pulisic and Cameron Carter-Vickers will await the draw in August as Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur have qualified for the group stage.

In the Europa League, Aaron Schoenfeld and Maccabi Tel Aviv will face Albania KF Tirana in the first qualifying round of the tournament. Dion Acoff and Valur from Iceland's Urvalsdeild division will take on Latvia's FK Ventspils. Nermin Crnkic and FK Sarajevo will look to knock off Moldova's FC Zaria Balti.

Shane O'Neill has not yet played for Cypriot first division team Apollon Limassol, but after a successful season-long loan to NAC Breda, in which he helped the team earn promotion back to the Dutch Eredivisie, he could be in the mix for as they await the winner between FK Sarajevo and FC Zaria Balti for the second qualifying round.

Goalkeeper Ethan Horwath and SK Brann from Norway's Eliteserien will await the winner of the first qualifying round game between FK Vojvodina and MFK Ruzomberok as the Norwegian are in the second qualifying round.

The legs for the first qualifying round will take place on June 29 and July 6. The legs for the second qualifying round are set for July 13 and 20.
