KENYA BROWN - Friday, August 11, 2017
It looks like Kenny Saief will be out of action for an extended period of time as it has been reported that he has suffered complications from his hernia surgery.
The latest setback will keep the midfielder out of action for at least two months.
According to an Israeli news site, Saief suffered an infection in the area that was operated on and doctors had to conduct an additional procedure. The report added that he will be on antibiotics for two weeks and then return to light training afterwards.
Saief suffered the hernia injury as he was training with the US national team ahead of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. He made his first appearance for the team in their 2-1 friendly win over Ghana in July.
The news of Saief's latest setback could put a dent in his hopes of being considered for the 2018 World Cup. The US will face Costa Rica and Honduras in their next two qualifiers in September followed by games against Panama and Trinidad and Tobago in October.
