William Yarbrough and Leon are still on the outside looking in for a Liga MX playoff spot as they had to come from behind to salvage a point against Lobos BUAP.

Leon 2-2 Lubos BUAP

Claudio Gonzalez scored both goals in the second half for Leon to cancel out earlier strikes from Julian Quinones as they labored to share the points against Lobos BUAP at Estadio Leon.

Los Esmeraldas, who are still in the hunt for a playoff spot, should have had no problems against their opponents as they are already eliminated from contention. However, Lobos proved to be too much to handle in the first half as they were the more attacking side.

Quinones scored his first and Lobos' goal of the game in the 35th minute as he headed in a cross from teammate Irven Avila, beating Yarbrough at the near post.

Leon came out aggressive in the second half, but Lobos scored again in the 60th minute when Carlos Morales' free-kick found Pedro Aquino in the area. He then headed the ball over to Quinones, who then headed the ball past a flat-footed Yarbrough.

The host finally woke up and cut the deficit two minutes later as Gonzalez headed in a cross from Luis Montes, with Lobos goalkeeper Lucero Alvarez diving the wrong way.

Leon then found the equalizer in the 77th minute as Gonzalez once again headed the ball into the back of the net as he connected on a cross from Andres Andrade.

Leon sits in 12th place in the standings with 15 points, two points out of a playoff spot.

Jorge Villafana started as first place Santo Laguna scored a late goal to claim a 1-0 win over Puebla. The team has now won four games in a row.

Joe Corona came off the bench for America in their 2-1 loss to Toluca.

Michael Orozco and Rubio Rubin watched from the bench as Tijuana shared the points with Morelia following a 1-1 tie.

Jose Torres and Lalo Fernandez were on the bench for Tigres UANL in their 0-0 tie with Guadalajara.

Bernabe Magana watched from the bench for Pumas UNAM in their 1-1 tie with Cruz Azul.

In Ascenso MX, Diego de la Tejera watched from the bench for Celaya in their 2-1 win over Dorados.
